MiniMax Code

MiniMax Code is a terminal coding agent that understands a project, makes changes, and runs tests from the command line, using a MiniMax account or a user's own model, with web search, plugins and multimodal tools available in the same workflow as code editing.

Its official installer installs the latest CLI, prepares a compatible Node.js runtime when needed, and requires no administrator privileges; it is also available through npm for users who already have a supported Node.js version. After installing, a user signs in with a mainland China or a global MiniMax account, or brings a separate API key, and can then check account status and switch models from within the CLI.

It installs into a per-user data directory that can be relocated with an environment variable, and is written in TypeScript.
