Montycat MCP
A self-hosted MCP server that gives Claude, Cursor, Codex and other Model Context Protocol clients shared, persistent memory with vector, keyword and hybrid search.
Montycat MCP is a self-hosted Model Context Protocol server that gives AI coding assistants persistent memory that survives across chat sessions and is shared between different clients, so a decision recorded from one agent can be read back by another. It supports recall by vector similarity search, exact keyword search with BM25, or a hybrid of both, as well as exact-key and metadata lookup.
Memory is stored in a Montycat Semantic engine, which the server can start locally on first use or connect to an existing one over a network with TLS. Installation is a downloadable package for Claude Desktop, a plugin command for Claude Code, or a stdio connection through uv for Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients. Memories can be scoped by namespace, such as private to one user or shared across a team, though the project notes that a scope is not itself a security boundary.
