MySQL MCP Server

A Model Context Protocol server that lets an AI application safely explore and query a MySQL database, listing tables as resources, reading their contents, and running SQL queries through a controlled interface.

MySQL MCP Server

MySQL MCP Server is an MCP implementation for secure interaction with MySQL databases. It lists available MySQL tables as MCP resources, reads table contents, executes SQL queries with proper error handling, and supports a multi-database mode alongside comprehensive schema information and table data sampling, all configured through environment variables and comprehensive logging.

It supports both STDIO and Streamable HTTP/SSE transport, with SSE recommended for remote or self-hosted deployments, plus SSH tunneling for connecting to a remote database securely. It can be run hosted, installed locally through Smithery, or installed directly with pip install mysql-mcp-server, and integrates with Claude Desktop, Claude Code and other MCP clients. It is written in Python under the MIT license.
