n8n-MCP
An MCP server that gives AI assistants such as Claude structured knowledge of n8n's workflow nodes, properties and operations, so they can build and configure n8n workflows.
n8n-MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that gives AI assistants comprehensive access to n8n's node documentation, properties and operations, bridging n8n's workflow automation platform with AI models so they can understand and work with n8n nodes.
It provides structured access to thousands of core and community n8n nodes, with detailed property schemas, operation coverage, documentation pulled from n8n's own docs including AI nodes, detected AI-capable tool variants, ranked real-world configuration examples drawn from popular templates, and a large template library with AI metadata for search. Community nodes can be searched separately from verified core nodes.
It can be tried through a hosted dashboard with a free daily tool-call tier and no local setup, or self-hosted through npx, Docker or Railway. The project's own safety guidance is to never let AI edit a production workflow directly: copy or back up a workflow and test changes in a development environment first. It is written in TypeScript and licensed under the MIT license.
