NetBox MCP Server
A simple, read-only MCP server for NetBox that lets LLM clients query core network-infrastructure objects, object details, and audit-trail change logs, deliberately kept small and easy to fork rather than covering NetBox's full API.
NetBox MCP Server exposes three tools, retrieving NetBox objects by type and filter, fetching a specific object by ID, and retrieving change-log audit records, over the Model Context Protocol, so an LLM client can look up network infrastructure data recorded in NetBox. It is intentionally simple and read-only by default, with no plugin surface of its own, and is designed to be easy to fork and extend under its Apache-2.0 license rather than trying to cover NetBox's GraphQL or dynamic model-discovery features, which the project explicitly leaves out of scope.
It requires a NetBox instance and a read-only API token scoped to the data it should expose, installs its dependencies with uv or pip, and connects to Claude Code or another MCP client over stdio, configured with the NetBox URL and token as environment variables.
Plugin object types installed in a NetBox instance can be auto-discovered by the server in addition to its core object types.
