Next.js DevTools MCP

next-devtools-mcp is a Model Context Protocol server that connects coding agents such as Claude and Cursor to a running Next.js dev server. It discovers running Next.js 16 or newer dev servers and proxies their built-in MCP endpoint so an agent gets live runtime errors, routes and logs, and it also ships two gateways that point an agent at tools it runs directly: version-accurate documentation and the agent-browser CLI.

Documentation and upgrade or Cache Components migration workflows have moved out of this server: Next.js now bundles its own docs, and migration guidance is distributed as separate agent skills. It installs across supported agents with npx add-mcp next-devtools-mcp@latest, or by adding its configuration directly to a client such as Amp, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Google Antigravity or VS Code.
