NextChat

NextChat is an open-source AI chat client that talks to Claude, GPT-4, Gemini and DeepSeek, and can also work with self-hosted LLMs such as RWKV-Runner or LocalAI. It deploys with one click to Vercel or runs as a compact native app for Linux, Windows and macOS.

Conversation data is stored locally in the browser for privacy. The interface renders Markdown with LaTeX, Mermaid diagrams and code highlighting, supports a responsive dark-mode design, and streams responses with a fast first screen load. Prompt templates called masks let a user create, share and debug custom chat tools, and long chat histories are compressed automatically to save tokens.

An Enterprise Edition adds brand customization, centralized management of AI resources across a team, granular permission control, and integration with an internal knowledge base for private deployments. Built with TypeScript.
