Nori Code / Nori Work
A coding-agent workspace, forked from Kimi Code CLI, that hands off work to standing multi-agent departments rather than disposable sub-agents, available as a terminal CLI and TUI called Nori Code and an Electron desktop app called Nori Work.
Nori is a coding-agent workspace that reads and edits files, runs a shell, and connects to MCP servers much like Codex or Claude Code, but delegates work differently: instead of spawning a disposable, throwaway sub-agent for a subtask, any agent can hire standing department members that discuss the work together, code in parallel, and continuously re-sync, bounded by a configurable maximum department depth. Hiring a member creates a real child chat session, mounted under its parent and shown as its own session card in a conversation map, rather than a temporary process that only reports back once finished.
The typical flow creates a department of members suited to the task, has the chair state the goal and open questions in a discuss round where each member must contribute a genuine point rather than simply agreeing, then assigns work to every member exactly once before coding proceeds in parallel. Dismissing a member deletes its child session, while detaching it from the map is a separate, non-destructive user action, and the project explicitly deprecated an earlier disposable sub-agent and task-pool design in favor of this standing-department model.
