Notion MCP Server

A self-hosted, community-maintained Model Context Protocol server implementation for the Notion API, superseded by Notion's own hosted Remote Notion MCP server.

Notion MCP Server

This repository implements an MCP server for the Notion API, letting an MCP client read and write Notion pages and databases locally. Notion now directs users toward its own hosted Remote Notion MCP server instead, describing this local implementation as no longer actively maintained; the hosted alternative adds semantic search across a workspace and connected apps, Markdown-native page reading and editing, and OAuth setup that respects a user's existing Notion permissions, none of which this local server provides.

Version 2.0.0 of this project migrated to a newer Notion API that introduces data sources as the primary abstraction for databases, replacing the previous database-query, update and create tools with equivalent data-source tools.
