Notion MCP Server
A Model Context Protocol server for the Notion API that lets an AI agent search, read, query and update Notion pages and databases with compact, agent-friendly responses.
Notion MCP Server targets the Notion API's 2026-03-11 version and its current database and data-source model, exposing MCP tools, prompts, resources, structured tool results and optional MCP Apps for interactive Notion workflows. It is aimed at keeping responses compact enough for everyday AI use rather than returning Notion's full raw API payloads.
Its tools cover search and target discovery, compact page reading with stable block IDs, data-source schema inspection, schema-aware querying and item creation with simple values, and page editing for paragraphs, headings, lists, todos, quotes, callouts, code blocks, dividers and safe Markdown appends; raw Notion API tools remain available for advanced block, page, database, comment and user operations. Two optional MCP Apps, a Data Source Explorer and a Page Workbench, add interactive views.
It is added to an MCP host such as Claude Desktop with an npx command and a Notion integration token, after creating an internal Notion integration, granting it only the read, insert, update, comment or user capabilities actually needed, and sharing specific pages or databases with it.
