OceanBase Database

A distributed relational database built on the Paxos protocol for high availability and linear scalability, with MySQL compatibility and built-in real-time analytics.

OceanBase Database

OceanBase Database is a distributed relational database developed by Ant Group. It runs on a common server cluster and uses the Paxos protocol and a distributed architecture to provide high availability and linear scalability without depending on specific hardware.

It scales to 1,500 nodes, petabytes of data and a trillion rows in one cluster, reports TPC-C and TPC-H benchmark results in the hundreds of millions and tens of millions respectively, and is reported to cut storage costs by 70 to 90 percent. It supports real-time analytics (HTAP) without extra cost, targets zero data loss and a recovery time under 8 seconds, and is compatible with MySQL for easy migration.

It can be deployed as a standalone instance, with Docker, or on Kubernetes through an operator, and is written mainly in C++ under the Apache-2.0 license.
