Octomind

A CLI-first, open-source AI coding agent runtime distributed as one Rust binary that runs interactively, piped, as a background daemon, over WebSocket, or embedded as a sub-agent.

Octomind

Octomind is an AI agent client in which the model calls MCP tools to do real work: reading and writing files, running shells, searching code and delegating to sub-agents. The same runtime supports several entry points from one session: interactive use, piped input for CI and scripts, a long-running background daemon addressable from another terminal, WebSocket, or an ACP sub-agent inside another agent's stack.

Models, tools, roles, guardrails and budgets are all configured in TOML rather than framework code, and the CLI works over SSH and inside tmux with plain-line output and shell completions rather than requiring a TUI. Logging in connects to Octomind Cloud, a subscription with model access through its own gateway, or a user can skip that and bring their own keys for OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Ollama or other providers.

It is written in Rust and licensed under Apache-2.0.

  • rig

    tryrig.ai

A small, single-binary agent runtime that points at any OpenAI-compatible model, local or hosted, reads and edits a repository's code, runs its tests and remembers what it learned, with a loop implemented in a few hundred lines.

  • Jauvex

    jauvex.reindent.com

An Electron desktop app that puts Claude Code, Codex and Grok coding-agent sessions side by side and lets you steer them by voice, with a small model handling fast routing decisions.
