Ollama

A tool for downloading and running open models locally, with a CLI, a REST API and Python and JavaScript libraries, and integrations with coding agents.

Ollama

Ollama runs open models such as Gemma, Qwen, DeepSeek and gpt-oss on your own machine. It installs on macOS, Windows and Linux, and an official Docker image is available.

Models are run and chatted with from the command line, and a REST API on a local port serves chat and model management. Official ollama-python and ollama-js libraries wrap the API. Ollama can also launch integrations with coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Copilot CLI and OpenCode.

Its backend is llama.cpp. Ollama is written in Go and MIT licensed.
