ollama-dl

A Python command-line tool that downloads models from the Ollama library without needing Ollama installed.

ollama-dl

ollama-dl downloads models from the Ollama library directly, without requiring Ollama itself to be installed. Run with uv, it installs its own dependencies and fetches the requested model version, defaulting to the latest one.

Downloaded models can then be used with other tools such as llama.cpp. It can also be installed into a Python virtual environment with pip and run as the ollama-dl command.

It is a small Python utility distributed under the MIT license.
