Open Browser Use

A platform-neutral browser automation layer for AI agents that pairs a Chrome extension with a CLI, JavaScript, Python, and Go SDKs, and an MCP server for driving real Chrome sessions.

Open Browser Use

Open Browser Use gives AI agent runtimes real Chrome automation without locking them into one vendor. It pairs a Chrome extension with a CLI and SDKs in JavaScript, Python, and Go, so an agent can drive an actual browser session rather than a synthetic one.

It installs as a global CLI or Homebrew formula, sets up the native host for its Chrome extension, and can also be added as a skill or an MCP server; the MCP server exposes browser tools such as tab control over a standard MCP client connection.

The project positions itself as an open-source alternative to the browser automation capability built into Codex.app, usable independently of any single coding agent.
