Open CoDesign

An open-source, local-first desktop app that turns a prompt into a prototype, slide deck or marketing asset using whichever AI model a developer already has access to.

Open CoDesign

Open CoDesign is an open-source alternative to tools such as Claude Design, v0, Lovable, Bolt.new and Figma AI, built for people who want AI-native design tooling without subscription lock-in or being tied to a single provider. It is an MIT-licensed Electron desktop app, local-first from the start, that turns a prompt into a polished prototype, slide deck, or marketing asset locally, with the model a developer already uses.

It supports bring-your-own-key access to Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, Ollama or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, plus direct sign-in with a ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Team subscription for Codex models, and can one-click import an existing Claude Code or Codex provider configuration to get running in under 90 seconds.

A recent branch adds decomposing an image into a componentized UI-kit bundle for handoff to a coding agent, with a visual-parity judge and a verify-and-iterate loop, alongside earlier additions such as AI image generation and provider diagnostics.
