open-computer-use

An open-source Computer Use service, exposed as an MCP server, that lets any AI agent or MCP client run GUI automation on macOS, Linux and Windows through the accessibility API.

open-computer-use

open-computer-use is an open-source alternative to Codex Computer Use. It wraps Computer Use as an MCP server so any AI agent or MCP client, including Codex, Gemini CLI or Claude, can drive the mouse, keyboard and screen on macOS, Linux or Windows through the operating system's accessibility layer rather than an intrusive driver.

It installs as an npm package with a short ocu CLI alias, and can be registered directly into an agent's MCP configuration or installed as a packaged skill for Codex or Claude Code. On macOS it requires the user to grant Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions once; Windows and Linux need no extra setup.

A companion project, open-browser-use, covers browser-specific automation.
