Open Cowork

An open-source desktop app that wraps Claude Code and other AI models in a one-click-install GUI with VM-level sandbox isolation, a document-generation Skills system, MCP integration and remote control through Feishu or Slack.

Open Cowork

Open Cowork is a free, open-source desktop application for Windows and macOS that packages Claude Code, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek and other models into a one-click-install graphical interface, so using an AI coding and automation agent needs no manual environment setup. It runs the agent's file and system operations inside a VM-level sandbox, using WSL2 on Windows and Lima on macOS, to isolate them from the host.

Its built-in Skills system generates professional documents such as PPTX, DOCX, XLSX and PDF files, and MCP integration connects the agent to desktop apps such as browsers and Notion. It also supports GUI automation through computer use, letting the agent operate other desktop applications directly, and can be controlled remotely through Feishu or Slack.

It is described as an open-source implementation of the commercial Claude Cowork product, is written in TypeScript, and is released under the MIT license.
