Open source MCP servers for AWS

This repository is a suite of specialized, open-source MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers for working with AWS, usable from any MCP-compatible client. Servers are organized by what a developer is building, such as real-time access to official AWS documentation, infrastructure and deployment across container platforms and serverless functions, AI and machine learning, data and analytics including SQL and NoSQL databases and search, backend API providers, caching, and integration and messaging, and by how a developer is working, such as core development workflow, infrastructure as code, conversational assistants, and autonomous background agents.

Both local and remote MCP servers are supported, with installation and setup instructions for macOS, Linux and Windows, and guidance for running servers in containers. Some servers can also run as an AWS Lambda handler.

The project's newer Agent Toolkit for AWS is positioned as the successor to these servers, adding IAM condition keys that distinguish agent actions from human ones and CloudWatch and CloudTrail visibility; this repository continues to work and accept contributions, and its most useful projects are expected to move into the Agent Toolkit over time.
