OpenAPI MCP Server

A Model Context Protocol server for Claude and Cursor that lets an AI agent search and explore OpenAPI specifications in simple language rather than reading a raw spec directly.

OpenAPI MCP Server

OpenAPI MCP Server helps an AI agent wade through a complex OpenAPI specification by working in three steps: it figures out which OpenAPI identifier a request needs, retrieves a summary of that specification in simple language through oapis.org, and determines which endpoints are relevant, checking how each one works, again explained in simple language rather than raw schema.

It gives an overview of any OpenAPI specification, retrieves details about specific API operations, and supports specifications in both JSON and YAML formats; it has been tested with Claude Desktop and Cursor. Other clients can connect to a hosted MCP endpoint directly instead of running the server locally.

For local development, the server runs with wrangler dev as a Cloudflare Worker, and its behavior can be exercised with the MCP inspector tool.
