OpenCode for GitHub Copilot Chat is a Visual Studio Code extension that adds more than 30 language models to Copilot Chat's built-in model picker, using Copilot's bring-your-own-key support rather than a separate chat interface. It connects to OpenCode Zen, a model gateway with a rotating set of free models and pay-as-you-go paid models, or to OpenCode Go, a flat-rate subscription covering a curated set of open models.
Selected models keep full access to Copilot's native Agent Mode, including tool calling and file edits. The extension also adds per-model reasoning-effort controls, a vision proxy that lets text-only models describe attached images by routing them through a vision-capable model, and usage tracking. It is written in TypeScript.
