OpenEvolve

An open-source evolutionary coding agent that turns large language models into iterative code optimizers, discovering new algorithms across generations without human guidance.

OpenEvolve

OpenEvolve is an evolutionary coding agent that uses large language models to iteratively rewrite and optimize code, discovering new algorithms rather than only tuning existing ones, with parallel evolution across islands of candidate solutions for reproducible, multi-objective search.

It has produced results including hardware-optimized GPU kernels, an improved circle-packing solution, adaptive sorting algorithms, and automated signal-processing filter design, across languages including Python, Rust, R and Metal shaders.

It can run from a quick-start command, as a Docker container, or as a Python library embedded in another program, and its example configuration defaults to a Gemini model but can be pointed at any OpenAI-compatible provider.

  • The City

    github.com

A native macOS app that shows Claude Code runs as a city, with each project as a building, each team as a floor of robots, and every animation driven by a real event from the claude CLI's stream.

  • rig

    tryrig.ai

A small, single-binary agent runtime that points at any OpenAI-compatible model, local or hosted, reads and edits a repository's code, runs its tests and remembers what it learned, with a loop implemented in a few hundred lines.

  • Jauvex

    jauvex.reindent.com

An Electron desktop app that puts Claude Code, Codex and Grok coding-agent sessions side by side and lets you steer them by voice, with a small model handling fast routing decisions.
