Ouroboros

Ouroboros is an open-source AI agent whose identity, memory, and history persist across tasks and restarts. It works on external projects, coordinates a live swarm of specialist agents, and can rewrite the implementation it runs on, including its own code, architecture, prompts, tools, and dependencies.

It runs either as a native desktop app or through a headless CLI. The runtime keeps the agent's repository, memory, history, and interface on the user's own machine, while model inference can use configured remote APIs or a local GGUF model.

Installers are available for macOS (Apple silicon), Windows, and several Linux distributions, plus an experimental Android build for rooted devices.
