ParadeDB

A Postgres extension that adds a custom index for full-text search, vector search, BM25 scoring, and aggregations, so an application can keep its search engine and its application data in one database.

ParadeDB

ParadeDB extends Postgres with an index that supports full-text search with BM25 scoring, top-K retrieval, and highlighting, alongside vector search, hybrid search, filtering, joins, and columnar aggregates, all inside standard SQL with ACID transactions. Because it is a Postgres extension rather than a separate service, an application keeps its data and its search index in one database.

It is built on Rust libraries including pgrx to bridge Postgres and Rust, Tantivy for full-text and vector search, and Apache DataFusion for the analytical processing, and it integrates with ORMs and frameworks such as Drizzle, Django, SQLAlchemy, and Rails, as well as AI agent tooling through Agent Skills and MCP.

ParadeDB Community is written in Rust and released under the AGPL-3.0 license; a separately licensed Enterprise edition is also offered.
