Perplexity API Platform MCP Server

The official MCP server for the Perplexity API Platform, giving an AI assistant real-time web search, reasoning and research through Perplexity's Agent API and Search API, either as a server Perplexity hosts or run locally.

Perplexity API Platform MCP Server

This is the official Model Context Protocol server for the Perplexity API Platform. It gives an AI assistant real-time web search, reasoning and research capabilities through Perplexity's Agent API and Search API.

A remote server, hosted by Perplexity, needs no local installation or updates and connects over Streamable HTTP with a Perplexity API key; Cursor and VS Code can connect to it directly. A local server runs the same tools from a package, configured with an API key plus optional settings for request timeout, a custom base URL and log level. The repository is also packaged as an Agent Plugin, so compatible clients can install it directly, with the API key still supplied through the client's own settings rather than the plugin package.
