Perspective Studio

A free, open-source macOS app for browsing, downloading and chatting with open-source AI models entirely on-device using MLX Swift, with no cloud calls, API keys or subscriptions.

Perspective Studio

Perspective Studio is a native macOS app, built with SwiftUI and MLX Swift, for running open-source AI models locally on a Mac with no cloud dependency. It lets a user browse thousands of models from the mlx-community organization on Hugging Face, download a chosen model with progress tracking, and see which models comfortably fit in the Mac's available memory before downloading them.

Chat runs entirely on-device through MLX Swift, and a separate text-to-speech playground uses MLX Audio and VibeVoice. Conversations are summarized automatically to stay within a model's context limit, and a beginner-friendly mode hides technical jargon for less experienced users. The app is built to be accessible, with VoiceOver and keyboard navigation supported throughout, and the project requires all UI contributions to be tested with VoiceOver.

It requires macOS 26 or later on Apple Silicon, Xcode 26 to build from source, and is MIT licensed.
