pi-acp

pi-acp is an adapter that lets the pi coding agent speak the Agent Client Protocol over stdio, so editors such as Zed can drive pi as an ACP agent with streamed output, tool-call locations and structured diffs.

pi-acp

pi-acp bridges the pi coding agent to any Agent Client Protocol client by spawning pi in RPC mode and translating between pi's own interface and ACP JSON-RPC messages over standard input and output. It is an early, MVP-style adapter aimed mainly at Zed editor support, with other ACP clients only partially supported.

It streams assistant output as ACP message chunks, maps pi's tool execution to ACP tool-call events, and resolves relative file paths from pi against the session's working directory so clients can open the referenced file. For file edits it infers a line number from the changed text and emits a structured old-text and new-text diff when possible. It also persists a mapping from ACP sessions to pi's own session files so a session can be reattached later, loads pi's file-based slash commands and skill commands, and reports pi's context window usage back to the client as it changes.
