pi-mcp

An extension that ports OpenCode-style Model Context Protocol client support to the Pi coding agent, letting it connect to local or remote MCP servers using the same configuration format OpenCode uses.

pi-mcp

pi-mcp adds MCP client support to the Pi coding agent by reusing OpenCode's configuration format, reading server definitions from a project's .pi/mcp.json, an opencode.json file, or a user-level config file. It negotiates the current stateless MCP protocol version where available and falls back to older servers automatically.

A keyboard-driven /mcp command manages connections: selecting a server and pressing a key connects, disconnects or starts OAuth for it, and configured servers can either register their tools eagerly at startup or connect lazily on first use. Environment-variable placeholders in server configuration are expanded from the surrounding process environment. It requires Node.js 20 or newer and installs directly from its GitHub repository.
