Pi MCP Adapter

A token-efficient adapter that lets the Pi coding agent use MCP servers through a single small proxy tool instead of loading every server's verbose tool definitions up front.

Pi MCP Adapter

Pi MCP Adapter lets the Pi coding agent use Model Context Protocol servers without paying their usual context-window cost. A single MCP server's tool definitions alone can burn more than ten thousand tokens, so connecting even a few servers can consume half a context window before a conversation starts; the adapter replaces that with one proxy tool of about two hundred tokens, and the agent discovers and starts the servers it actually needs on demand.

It reads standard MCP configuration files, such as a project's .mcp.json or a user's global MCP configuration, automatically, and a setup command can import host-specific configurations already written for Cursor, Claude Code or Codex, previewing the exact file changes before writing them. A third-party bridge lets the unmodified adapter also run inside DeepSeek Harness. It is written in TypeScript and licensed under MIT.
