pigo

A Go reimplementation of the pi command-line coding agent, supporting headless scripted execution and an interactive REPL, with tools for reading, writing, and running code across multiple LLM providers.

pigo

pigo is a Go rewrite of the pi AI coding agent, a command-line agent that reads and writes files, runs commands, searches code, and fetches web pages while working with a large model through a two-layer agent loop. It supports OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible providers as well as OpenRouter and local NVIDIA NIM or Ollama endpoints.

It runs either as a one-shot headless command suited to scripts and CI, or as an interactive REPL, and both modes can resume or continue a previous session. Sessions stream structured JSON events tagged with a session ID for programmatic use. Built-in tools include read, write, edit, grep, find, and a shell tool with background execution, alongside a todo tracker and a web-fetch tool. Trust gating requires confirmation before side-effecting tools run in an unfamiliar directory, and tool-level allow and deny lists constrain what a session or its subagents can do. Skills, plugins, and reusable prompt templates extend it further, and it can update itself from GitHub releases.

It requires a recent Go toolchain to build and installs as a single binary.
