Pinecone TypeScript SDK

The official TypeScript and Node.js client for the Pinecone vector database, supporting full-text search, vector operations, index management, and integrated embedding and reranking.

Pinecone TypeScript SDK

The Pinecone TypeScript SDK is the official client for building full-text and vector search applications against Pinecone, requiring TypeScript 5.2 or later and Node.js 22 or later. It stores and searches documents and high-dimensional vectors, supporting full-text queries with scoring, filtering, and field selection, or embeddings for semantic search, recommendations, and retrieval-augmented generation.

It covers document operations such as upsert, fetch, update, and delete within namespaces, vector operations with metadata filtering, creating serverless indexes and managing existing pod-based ones, integrated embedding and reranking models for end-to-end search, and Pinecone Assistant, an AI assistant built on the same vector database. Generic type parameters give metadata full TypeScript type safety.

It is released under the Apache-2.0 license.

A self-hosted, Java-based knowledge base for small and mid-sized organizations, turning internal documents into a searchable, question-answerable and audit-exportable knowledge asset with hybrid retrieval and Docker deployment.
