pitlane-mcp
A token-efficient MCP code intelligence server that indexes a codebase once with tree-sitter and lets AI coding agents retrieve only the symbols they need instead of reading whole files.
pitlane-mcp indexes a codebase once with tree-sitter and lets agents discover the right symbol or file, read the smallest useful unit, and trace execution paths and change impact, instead of dumping whole files into context. On the project's benchmark corpora this reduces prompt footprint by one to two orders of magnitude while keeping navigation grounded in the actual code.
It provides AST-based indexing for Rust, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Svelte, C, C++, Go, Java, C#, Ruby, Swift, Objective-C, PHP, Zig, Kotlin, Lua, Solidity and Bash, BM25 symbol search with optional semantic search, Markdown heading and JSON, YAML and TOML key discovery, and composite tools for discovery, reading, path tracing and impact analysis. Indexing is incremental and disk-persisted, and it needs no external service.
It installs from GitHub Releases, Homebrew, cargo-binstall or crates.io, and adds to Claude Code, OpenCode, VS Code or Cursor as an MCP server. The project is feature-complete and in maintenance mode: bug fixes and compatibility updates are welcome, but no new major features are actively planned.
