Portal
A tool that turns a local folder into a public Model Context Protocol endpoint over a tunnel, exposing five deliberately minimal tools for running shell commands and transferring files, as a VS Code extension or standalone desktop app.
Portal exposes a local folder as a public MCP endpoint reachable over a tunnel, deliberately limited to five tools: running a command, starting a long-running command, reading its output, stopping it, and getting file-transfer information. Any MCP client, including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, a custom agent, or plain curl, can connect to the endpoint and a matching file HTTP API secured by the same token.
The same functionality ships as a standalone Windows desktop app built with Electron, which adds native browser-window docking and needs no VS Code, and as the original VS Code extension. Tunneling can go through an ngrok reserved domain, a Cloudflare Quick or named tunnel, or a custom tunnel command, though only the ngrok path is described as tested; the two apps expose the same MCP contract and are drop-in replacements for each other.
