PyGPT

An open-source desktop AI assistant for Linux, Windows and macOS that connects to many model providers and adds agents, RAG, vision, image and video generation, computer use and voice in one chat-style interface.

PyGPT

PyGPT is an open-source desktop AI assistant for Linux, Windows and macOS, built in Python with a ChatGPT-like conversational interface. It supports models from OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, xAI Grok, Perplexity/Sonar and DeepSeek, plus models available through Hugging Face, LlamaIndex, OpenAI-compatible APIs and local Ollama installations such as Qwen, Gemma, Mistral and Llama.

Beyond chat, it includes agents with chat, orchestrator and swarm workflows, agent skills, plugins and MCP connectors, retrieval-augmented generation over files and attachments, Python and IPython tools, web search, vision and camera input, image and video generation, computer use, realtime voice, speech input and output, memory and automation. Models can use local and remote tools, work with files, call APIs, and control the desktop or browser when enabled.

It is distributed through PyPI, the Snap Store, the Microsoft Store, and as a downloadable AppImage or prebuilt binary.
