Quarkdown

A Turing-complete extension of Markdown that compiles a single document into books, academic papers, presentations, websites or knowledge bases, with functions, variables and a live preview.

Quarkdown

Quarkdown extends CommonMark and GFM with function calls, variables, conditionals and loops, letting an author define reusable layout and content logic directly inside Markdown. A standard library adds layout builders, I/O, and math on top of the base syntax.

A single source project can compile to a print-ready book, an academic paper, a knowledge base or an interactive presentation, with a live preview that recompiles as the document changes. A permission system restricts what a compiled document's functions can access on the system.

It is written in Kotlin and distributed under the GPL-3.0 license, with editor extensions and comparisons to other typesetting systems documented alongside installation and quickstart guides.
