Repo Steward

An autonomous agent that runs the operational side of maintaining open-source repositories, triaging issues and reviewing pull requests across iterations while leaving merges and design decisions to the maintainer.

Repo Steward

Repo Steward triages issues, reviews pull requests across multiple iterations, joins repository discussions, authors bug-fix pull requests and watches a project's websites, running on a schedule or a button press while keeping a live dashboard of what it is doing. It escalates only tie-breaks and design decisions to the maintainer, and stages every review and reply for approval by default until that maintainer switches on a live toggle.

It never merges or closes anything on its own judgment; a merge always comes from the maintainer's dashboard click, a typed decision, or a merge rule the maintainer wrote down, executed under the maintainer's own GitHub authentication. An insights sweep ranks open issues by value, readiness and effort, and clicking build on one has the steward implement it and open a pull request. It requires a headless agent CLI such as Claude Code, an authenticated gh CLI with push access, and a Linux host with a systemd user session.
