Repowise

A self-hosted codebase intelligence tool that indexes code, dependency graphs, git history, tests, and documentation to give agents and developers cited answers.

Repowise

Repowise builds one index of a codebase covering its dependency graph, git history, tests, documentation, and past decisions, then answers questions with citations, shows the blast radius of a change, and surfaces concrete code-health fixes such as dead code and defect-prone files. It is designed to reduce the tool calls and context an AI coding agent needs to understand a repository before making a change.

It exposes the same index through an MCP server, editor views, a local dashboard, pull request analysis, and a cross-repository system map, and can select which tests a diff should run or flag missing companion files and breaking contracts before a merge. Graph, risk, and health analysis run without calling an LLM; generated prose explanations are optional.

Repowise is written in Python, keeps analysis on the user's own infrastructure, and is available under AGPL-3.0 or a commercial license.
