rustunnel

rustunnel is an open-source, self-hostable tunnel server written in Rust that exposes local HTTP, HTTPS, TCP or UDP services to the public internet over a TLS-encrypted WebSocket connection, with a pay-as-you-go managed option and an MCP server for AI agents.

rustunnel

rustunnel proxies local services to the public internet through encrypted WebSocket connections with TLS termination, HTTP and TCP proxying, a live dashboard, Prometheus metrics and audit logging. It can be self-hosted, built from source and deployed with systemd or Docker, or used through a managed service with edge servers in Europe, the United States and Asia-Pacific that a client auto-selects by proximity.

For AI agents, it ships an MCP server with one-click setup for Cursor and integration guides for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Windsurf and others, alongside a client CLI with a setup wizard, machine-readable JSON output, and token-based authentication managed through a REST API.

It is written in Rust and licensed under AGPL-3.0.
