Smart Ralph

A Claude Code and Codex plugin for spec-driven development that turns a feature request into a structured specification, then executes it one task at a time with fresh context and resumable progress.

Smart Ralph

Smart Ralph converts a feature request into research, requirements, design and task files before any implementation begins, then executes the resulting tasks one at a time with fresh context for each. Large goals can first go through a triage step that splits the work into dependency-aware specifications. Spec files stay in the project so each phase can be reviewed or edited before execution, and progress is recorded between tasks so a stopped session can resume later.

An optional prototype mode can test one focused design question without turning disposable exploratory code into production code. The execution loop is self-contained and has no external plugin dependencies.

It installs as a plugin for Claude Code or as a plugin for Codex, and can also be run from a local clone for development.
