Spotify MCP Server

A lightweight MCP server that lets AI assistants such as Cursor and Claude control Spotify playback, search the catalog, and manage playlists through natural-language requests.

Spotify MCP Server

The server exposes read tools for searching tracks, albums, artists and playlists, checking what is currently playing, and listing a user's playlists and their tracks, plus tools for playback and playlist creation, so a request such as playing an artist's first song, building a fusion playlist from two artists, copying tracks between playlists, or adjusting the volume can be handled directly by the assistant.

It requires creating a Spotify developer application and configuring the Spotify API credentials and an authentication flow before use, and is set up for Claude Desktop, Cursor or VS Code (through Cline) by adding it to the client's MCP server configuration.
