stynx-code

A self-contained terminal AI coding assistant that speaks Anthropic's Claude API and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, running an autonomous tool-using loop behind a permission system.

stynx-code

stynx-code is a terminal application for working with a language model through file edit, bash, glob, grep and web-fetch tools, run under a permission system that only prompts the user when configured to. Concurrent-safe tools run in parallel through tokio tasks, context is compacted automatically once it passes a token threshold through a staged pipeline, file changes are tracked on an undo stack, and provider overloads back off and retry automatically.

A distinctive intern mode lets the primary Claude model delegate tasks to one or more cheaper OpenAI-compatible models, each exposed as its own delegation tool, with background execution and status commands for long-running work. The terminal interface includes a live tool-stream pane, a command palette, a model picker, a runtime theme switcher, and a colorized diff renderer, and skills are added simply by dropping a Markdown file into a skills directory.
