Synaptic
A single-binary code intelligence tool that builds a persistent, source-grounded knowledge graph of a repository, so a coding assistant can look up dependencies, predict change impact, select relevant tests and verify refactors without rediscovering the codebase each session.
Synaptic maps a repository once into a persistent knowledge graph, available from a CLI or through MCP, so a developer or their coding assistant does not have to rediscover the codebase's structure in every session. It answers questions about how a system works, what depends on a given symbol, and what a change may break, covering symbols, calls, imports, inheritance, resources, SQL and cross-language boundaries in one graph, and it can also remember source-linked history from past commits, decisions, incidents, reviews and CI runs.
Beyond querying the graph, it can plan small, reviewable API and dependency repairs, forecast the effect of a change, and optionally verify a refactor in an isolated worktree. Code extraction is local and deterministic, honoring .gitignore and a project-specific ignore file and skipping common secret files, and the tool stays offline unless a network-backed feature is explicitly enabled. It installs into Claude Code, the Codex CLI or desktop app, and other assistants such as Gemini, Cursor, Copilot, OpenCode and Kilo, loading only a small set of tools at startup and finding the rest on demand.
It is a single Rust binary with no runtime, database, account or API key required, and is licensed under AGPL-3.0.
