tabularis

An open-source desktop SQL workspace with built-in drivers for PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and SQLite, extendable through plugins, with SQL notebooks, visual EXPLAIN, and a built-in MCP server.

tabularis

tabularis is a desktop SQL workspace with three database drivers built in and additional databases, such as SQL Server, DuckDB, ClickHouse, Redis, and Firestore, available through official plugins. Its SQL notebooks mix SQL and Markdown cells with cross-cell variables and charts, and it includes a visual query builder and an interactive visual EXPLAIN for query plans.

Its built-in MCP server lets AI clients such as Claude, Cursor, or Devin read a connected schema and run queries from within the same app a developer already uses, and optional AI text-to-SQL can run against local models through Ollama. Plugins can be written in any language over JSON-RPC on stdio.

It is written in TypeScript with a Rust and Tauri backend, and released under the Apache-2.0 license.
