Things MCP Server

Things MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol server that lets Claude create tasks, manage projects and areas, and analyze priorities in the Things 3 to-do app on macOS.

Things MCP Server

Things MCP Server connects Claude Desktop or Claude Code to a user's task data in Things 3 from Cultured Code, built on the Things.py library and the Things URL Scheme. It exposes the app's major lists, such as Inbox, Today and Upcoming, along with project and area management, tag operations, advanced search, recent items, detailed item information including checklists, and nested data such as projects within areas or to-dos within projects, and follows Things's own behavior of excluding Someday-project tasks from the Today, Upcoming and Anytime views.

It requires macOS, since Things 3 is Mac-only, the Things URLs setting enabled in Things, and the uv Python package manager; it can be installed and run directly with uvx from PyPI, added to Claude Desktop as a one-click package, or configured manually in either client.

It is written in Python and licensed under MIT.
