Toolport

A local MCP gateway that lets a developer set up MCP servers once and share them, with credentials and permission controls, across Claude, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, and other clients.

Toolport

Toolport is a local gateway for the Model Context Protocol that lets a developer add and authenticate each MCP server once, then share it across multiple AI clients such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, and VS Code through configurable profiles that control which servers each client can access. Rather than loading every tool definition up front, agents search for tools when needed, which the project reports reduces context overhead.

Credentials are kept in the operating system's keychain rather than in per-client configuration files, and the gateway can disable individual tools, require approval before a destructive call runs, and log activity for review in one place. It also supports writing shared agent rules once and applying them across supported clients, with a preview of changes before they are written. A team option shares server configuration and policy across a team while each member keeps their own credentials, hosted or self-hosted. The desktop app and gateway are MIT licensed.
