TUUI

A desktop MCP client and local AI playground that lets a user chat with cross-vendor LLMs through the Model Context Protocol, with no required account and full local control.

TUUI

TUUI is a desktop MCP client built as an LLM chat application with cross-vendor API orchestration, letting a user configure and switch between LLM backends such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Qwen, or a self-hosted model, without a TUUI account or hosted service. Much of the codebase was itself generated or converted from a prototype with AI assistance, and the project applies linting and naming-convention checks to that generated code.

On the MCP side it supports tools, prompts, and resources from a server, sampling and elicitation as an MCP client, real-time discovery of servers from an MCP registry, and MCP Bundles (.mcpb, formerly Desktop Extensions/.dxt). It also functions as an MCP inspector and a small LLM evaluation/testing playground for prompts.

It is written in TypeScript and released under the Apache-2.0 license.
