Unity-MCP

An AI-powered game-development assistant for the Unity Editor and runtime, connecting agents such as Claude, Cursor and Windsurf to Unity through MCP tools and generated skills, including inside a compiled, running game.

Unity-MCP

Unity-MCP connects AI agents to the Unity Editor and to a running game through the Model Context Protocol, letting an agent automate editor workflows, generate code, and enable AI features inside the game itself, such as dynamic NPC behavior or in-game debugging, at both design time and runtime. It works with agents from any provider, including Claude, OpenAI, Copilot and others, without vendor lock-in.

It provides a default set of MCP tools for operating the Unity Editor, generates project-specific skills based on the operating system, Unity version and installed plugins, and can be installed either through a downloadable Unity package or a command-line tool that installs the plugin into a project, signs in through OAuth, and sets up matching skills for a chosen agent. It supports both local stdio connections and remote HTTP deployment.
