VEC
A compact, exact-scan vector database distributed as a single executable, keeping vectors resident on an NVIDIA GPU (or system RAM in a CPU build) and reachable through SDKs for C++, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, and Delphi.
VEC is an exact-scan vector database that ships as a single executable. The vec binary keeps vectors on an NVIDIA GPU, while vec-cpu stores them in system RAM and implements the same wire commands, so the same client code can target either. Records carry a stable integer slot ID, an optional label, and an optional opaque data blob, and a --memory flag runs a writable, non-persistent database for the current process only.
Commands cover pushing and fetching vectors, similarity and label-based queries, existence checks, deleting and undoing the last delete, and clustering operations (DBSCAN, farthest-point sampling, and one representative member per cluster). A shape mask controls whether a query returns the vector, label, data, or a combination.
SDKs connect over a local named pipe or Unix socket, or over a binary TCP protocol on port 1920; the project also documents deploy and router modes not yet exposed through the SDK APIs.
