Vectorizer

A high-performance, in-memory vector database and search engine in Rust for semantic search and document indexing, exposed over binary RPC, REST, gRPC, GraphQL and MCP with native SDKs in five languages.

Vectorizer

Vectorizer is a Cargo workspace of five crates providing a vector database with multiple transports: a binary MessagePack RPC protocol as its default and fastest interface, a REST API that also powers its React dashboard, a Qdrant-compatible gRPC service, a GraphQL endpoint, and an MCP server exposing 31 tools for AI assistants such as Cursor and Claude Desktop.

It uses AVX2 SIMD-accelerated vector operations with runtime CPU detection, and an optional Metal GPU backend on Apple Silicon. Native SDKs are provided for Rust, Python, TypeScript, Go and C#, and configuration is loaded from layered config files under a config directory.

A hybrid retrieval engine for retrieval-augmented generation, written in Rust to run on-device on a phone or a laptop, combining lexical BM25 search, dense embedding search, reciprocal-rank fusion and cross-encoder re-ranking with no server.
