vix

A terminal AI coding agent focused on token efficiency, using cached multi-phase agents and a tree-sitter based virtual filesystem to read and edit minified code, plus programmable JSON pipelines and a visual plan-review mode.

vix

vix is an AI coding agent built for speed and low token use. It reduces cost by maximizing prompt-cache reuse across phases and by editing code through a Tree-sitter virtual filesystem that lets the agent work with minified source, which the project reports cuts tokens by 20 to 50 percent without losing meaning.

Users can define multi-phase agent pipelines in JSON with agent, bash and tool steps, including templating, branching, parallelism and history forking. A whiteboard mode presents the agent's plan on a visual canvas with a voice walkthrough for review before it runs. It supports skills, MCP servers, subagents, LSP-backed code intelligence, sandboxed execution, and multiple model providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter and Bedrock.

    jauvex.reindent.com

An Electron desktop app that puts Claude Code, Codex and Grok coding-agent sessions side by side and lets you steer them by voice, with a small model handling fast routing decisions.
